Vince Foster (1941 - 2017) A great friend of Wimborne RFC

The President and Council of the Dorset & Wilts. RFU are sorry to record the following news from the Wimborne RFC website -

"We are very sad to report Vince' Fosters passing on Sunday evening, 11th June, after 12 years of chronic illness. Vince was a well respected core member of Wimborne RFC.
"He undertook many roles in the 70s, 80s and 90s and will be remembered as one of life's real characters. Vincent will be very sadly missed. Our thoughts and condolences are with Vince's family at this time.
"Vince's funeral will be on Tuesday 27th June at 12.30pm, at Poole Crematorium followed by a Wake at The White Hart in Wimborne.  Please come along, if you are able, to remember Vince and to raise a glass to his memory."
Former RFU President, Willie Wildash, adds:
- Vince was an elected Club Representative on the D & W RFU Council for several years in the late seventies. He regularly attended D & W RFU AGMs and always made a verbal contribution.
- He was Fixture Secretary for Wimborne and arranged challenging fixtures for the Club, which helped its development on the field. He also served as Club Secretary.

- When refereeing Wimborne I always looked forward to hearing his vocal advice from the touchline! He was an expert in the offside law except when Alan Morgan, Wimborne's excellent open side wing forward, was involved. A great rugby character.
