Bath Academy are having u17s games on 21 April
(Exeter) and 28 April (Bristol) before the end of season release of some
players, which will provide future County u18 and u20 programmes with a very
realistic player pathway to South West and England
representation and the potential that can bring. As always, players who are off to Uni can
still play for us at u20 level - we currently have students from Bath,
Loughborough, Hartbury, Cardiff and Brunel to name a few.
Therefore
the Management and Coaching Staff have great pleasure in announcing a
Development Day for the current squad players and those who may no longer be
involved in Academy rugby. The purpose
of the day is to extend the development of our current squad players, alongside
players who were not quite ready for County rugby. We will focus on the development of those
better players within a Club Team and those who are keen to develop their
skills to a representative level. We
have therefore organised a Players Development Day to be held at Bryanston
School on Sunday 23 April, 2017 for all Squad Players and unselected players
who attended the Trials at Tidworth and Salisbury. (Parents and Coaches are also welcome to
attend this stunning venue). Players
will need to bring a small notebook and pen (for sessions with Physio and
points from coaches).
The
session will be between 9.30 am and 3.30 pm with a break for lunch at about 12.30
pm.

PLEASE
ENSURE ALL PLAYERS BRING A SUITABLE LUNCH, PLENTY OF FLUIDS AND SNACKS FOR THE
DAY. A CHANGE OF CLOTHES IS ALSO
RECOMMENDED, PARTICULARLY IF IT IS RAINING. WE WILL HAVE A PHYSIO THERE FOR THE DAY AND
SHOWERS/CHANGING ROOMS WILL ALSO BE AVAILABLE.
Our
aim is to have a highly productive but fun rugby event, whilst taking another
look at those players who originally trialled, alongside our selected squad, to
see how they have worked on the feedback given from the assessors in previous
trails. Please note that this is not with a view to add players to our existing
squad (unless players are considered exceptional), but to prepare/boost
confidence for players who intend to be considered in the next Trial.
COACHES, SCHOOL MASTERS, PARENTS –
WE
WILL NOT ACCEPT
ANY PLAYER ON THE DAY WITHOUT PRIOR CONFIRMATION OF INTENDED ATTENDANCE BY
EMAIL TO samsie1@talktalk.net
OR IF WE DO NOT HAVE THE COMPLETED FORMS THAT WERE HANDED IN AT PREVIOUS
TRIALS.
We
experienced a very difficult situation at the first trial (in extreme weather
conditions) when 22 players arrived unannounced and caused huge delays at
registration. We do not have the time or
other resources to deal with this again.
